ACCESSIBILITY GUIDE FOR BULVERTON HOUSE HOLIDAY COTTAGES, SIDMOUTH, DEVON.
Bulverton House comprises three 5 Star rated self-catering holiday cottages and the owner’s home, set on the edge of the regency town of Sidmouth, the three self-catering cottages have been converted from original farm building of a mixed cob/stone & block construction.
Transport Links
Bulverton House (EX10 9DW) is one mile from Sidmouth Seafront, with a pedestrian footpath linking the house to the town / Sidmouth is well served by a range of local Taxi firms / A range of Bus services are available in the vicinity, but these tend to vary in consistency and we would advise you to check the ’Stagecoach Website’ (and from this the Devon County Council website bus link) to ascertain up to date information should you need to use a bus based service while at Bulverton House.
Exeter which is a little over 10 miles from Bulverton House, is a main transportation hub for the area, with Exeter Airport, several Rail Stations and numerous Taxi firms / A range of Ferry’s link into the local area via Weymouth & Plymouth.
Bulverton House
The site is generally level, with open areas either grassed or ‘small gravelled’ – Most of the linking pathways to the self-catering cottages are also ‘small gravelled’. The whole site is well lit throughout the night-time period, with additional outside lighting switched from within each cottage.
Car Parking
An individual space is allocated (two spaces if required for the two bedroomed Sampson Cottage) for each of our self-catering cottages, with further short term parking also available. The parking area is on site and off road, and well lit throughout the night-time period.
Orlando – sleeps 2
Our Orlando cottage is accessed via two wide & deep steps up. On entry, the cottage is of an open plan nature and all on one level, with only one further small level change as you enter the private courtyard. Floors are all laid to an Amtico finish. With the private courtyard laid to concrete slab.
The Bath has a wall mounted ‘grab-handle’ to aid access.

Delderfield – sleeps 2
Our Delderfield cottage has level main access point (timber threshold only). The rest of the cottage is also on the same level (please note that the Fire Escape route does involve one step down to exit the cottage). Floors are all laid to Amtico finish. French doors also exit to a small level patio area, which in turn steps down to a larger ‘small gravelled’ feature garden area.
The Bath has a wall mounted ‘grab-handle’ to aid access.

Sampson – sleeps 4
Our Sampson cottage is accessed through its own feature garden area, initially through a picket gate and ‘small gravelled’ path, stepping up onto the large paved area and accessing the Suite on this level by French doors. Once inside the cottage, it is all on the same level (please note the Fire Escape route does involve one step down to exit the Suite). Floors are all laid to Amtico finish.
The Bath has a wall mounted ‘grab-handle’ to aid access.
